| Tim Bayley thinks it was worth sweating out the extra day before the British selectors announced the U.K team for the world Indoor championships at Doha Qatar in a couple of weeks time..
The team was due to be announced on Monday but it was not until Tuesday that the Phoenix athlete was confirmed as the only British runner selected for the men’s 1,500 metres.
This followed his brilliant time in the “Aviva Grand Prix” at Birmingham last weekend when he took two seconds off his previous best despite placing seventh in a World Class field in his fastest ever time of 3:40.16.
There is also a place in the team for Crawley’s Surrey athlete, Charlotte Best in the Women’s, 1,500 metres.
Like Bayley, Best also set a personal best at the weekend clocking 4:32.29 for ninth place on the One-mile race at Birmingham.
